I can't believe we are almost finished our third week of kindergarten! If you ask your kindergartener they will tell you we have already been in school for 12 days! The children have been working hard learning the routine of the classroom. We spent the first week discussing how to keep our classroom a fun and safe place and as a group came up with a list of classroom rules.
We have already learned three letters: m, s, r. We have discussed the sounds these letters make and practiced writing them in handwriting. Along with learning these letters has come the start of homework. I am impressed with the completion rate of homework and the children are eager to show me what they did at home. Please check our "This Work Really Shines" board frequently as the children's work will change often.
Our class is in need of a Room Parent. A room parent helps me to reach out to families(usually through email) about special events or classroom projects. If this is something you may be interested in please let me know.
Our Family Night is Monday September 30th from 6:30-7:30. Please see our Parent Info Board to the left of the classroom door for food sign ups. Please make all food in a disposable tray.
Please check back to our blog soon. I will be uploading some pictures shortly!
