We had a great week leading up to Halloween. We read some Halloween stories, did some fun art activities, and enjoyed a fun celebration! One of our art activities was creating a jack-o-lantern. The children were each given one piece of orange paper and one piece of black paper, but no tracers. They did an amazing job creating individual jack-o-lanterns by tracing and cutting their own shapes.
We also craved a pumpkin this week. Everyone took turns cleaning out the inside of the pumpkin, then we voted on which shape eyes, nose, and mouth they wanted.
For our celebration, we created a delicious fruit salad. The children each picked a fruit they wanted to cut up and add to the salad bowl. They had a blast creating their own snack, then of course eating it with cool whip!
We took a parade around the school to show the other classes and teachers our costumes! We even got to walk through the office to see Ms. Rachel, Ms. Gail, and Ms. Alysa! We had a great week. We hope you enjoy the pictures!

I can't believe we are already into October. The month of September flew by! Can you believe we have already been in school for 25 days?! We have been so busy learning new letters and words each week. We will be learning our first vowel this month. That will be exciting because then we can start to build and read many words. We started Boks, our fitness program, first thing on Monday mornings. Boks consist of stretching, running, learning a new skill of the day (ex. plank or sit-up), playing a game involving the new skill of the day, playing a running game (ex. freeze tag), and ending with stretching again. The children love this time of the day and we plan to add another day of Boks to our schedule.
