The children have been having a blast with Boks-so much that we have started doing it 3 days a week instead of only 1! We now go to the gym Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 8:30 to participate in fitness activities. You may wonder what exactly we do at Boks. We always start out by stretching. Next we run laps around the gym for the duration of a song. During this time, the children run at there own pace, slowing down if they need too, but continue to move during the entire song. After the song we focus on a skills that works a part of the body and then incorporate that into an activity. We finish Boks with a running game such as Mirror Tag. Here is an example of a Boks activity called Over, Under. The children take turns passing a ball over their head or under their legs then run to the end of the line. This activity was a big hit!!
